Let's face it. Your course outline has been sitting on the sidelines wayyyy too long, staring you down like a drunk stalker in a bar.
I know. It's uncomfortable.
Well guess what? It's time to finish your damn course.
Look, you're smart and you have marketable expertise. But you keep getting stuck...
Finish Your Damn Course! (FYDC) is a 3-month guided program that gives you a roadmap for creating (or improving) your online course using proven Instructional Design principles.
Unlike other programs, FYDC will teach you how to validate and create a course that's focused on meaningful transformation--not just marketing fluff.
You'll also learn how to apply Learning Design principles (without having to get a Masters degree in Instructional Design like me).
All of this is wrapped in a hybrid format that includes self-paced curriculum & live sessions with me.
After almost year of procrastinating making some type of course, I began to worry that I'd missed my chance. Janelle came in and convinced me that I didn't have to teach everything I knew, and that I didn't have to be a perfectionist about the finished product. With her guidance — two weeks later I released my Facebook Ads email course that now nurtures all new subscribers joining my list. Plus, she showed me this perfect way to plug in an automated sales pitch at the end, which I had completely overlooked. Yesssssss finally.

If you are thinking about building an online course I can't recommend Janelle enough. She helped me build my course, Therapy School. I didn't know what I didn't know. She is a wizard with content design, learning & technology. In short - she took my course from zero to ready-to-go.

My course has gotten at least 400% ROI since working with you.

Hi, I'm Janelle. My passion is helping people get better learning results from their online courses. Unlike other online course experts, my background is in Instructional Design, which means I study how adults learn and make courses based on those principles.
In 2009, I graduated with a Masters Degree in Instructional Technology from Georgia State University. For the past 8 years, I've worked as a Learning Designer, helping entrepreneurs, mid-size businesses and colleges create hundreds of online courses.
In addition to running Zen Courses, I also host The Zen Courses Show where I interview successful course creators. My mission is to help you create your course with less overwhelm.
1. When does the program start and finish?
The first run of the program starts the week of September 17 and runs for three months (approx. 8 weeks of content, plus 4 work weeks).
2. When will the live sessions be held?
They'll be on Tuesdays or Wednesdays in the evening (I'll poll the group to see which day & time works best before finalizing).
3. What if I can't make the live sessions?
Great question. The live sessions will be held bi-weekly. They will be recorded, so if you can't make a session you can replay it at your convenience.
4. I have an existing course that I want to improve. Will the program be too basic for me?
Nope! This program is for course creators in what I call the "growth" stage: you have a course idea and an audience (or network) to sell to but you need help finishing your course. "Finishing" can mean you're creating your first course or that you need help taking your existing course to the next level.
5. Do I need a mailing (email) list to join this program?
No, but it's preferable. You'll learn key email marketing strategies that work best with an active list of at least 200 people. If you don't have an email list, you'll need an existing client base or network you are actively engaged with and can market to. If you aren't there right now, your #1 focus should be listbuilding.
6. Does this program cover Instructional Design?
Yes. I’ll show you how to apply Backwards Design to create a course that gets results. You'll also learn advanced strategies like how to increase engagement in your course, choose the right activities, and how to make your content more actionable.
7. If I change my mind can I get a refund?
You can request a refund up to 5 business days prior to the program start date (September 17). Since you'll get access to the content up-front and there are limited seats, there's no refunds after that date. I'm happy to answer any questions you have to make sure the program is the right fit for you. Just email me at hello [at] zencourses [dot] co
